San Jose del Cabo is part of the Los Cabos municipality at the southern tip of Baja California Sur. Its year round sunshine and seemingly endless coastline along both the Pacific Ocean and Sea of Cortez make the Los Cabos area an ideal vacation spot. The almost 20 miles between San Jose del Cabo and its sister city, Cabo San Lucas, is called the Resort Corridor, a dedicated tourist area where many of the all-inclusive resorts are located. No matter where you are in Los Cabos, the area offers a wealth of outdoor activities from surfing and fishing to hiking and golfing. December to April is the annual whale migration season and those in the area have the special chance for whale watching excursions.
While in San Jose del Cabo check out the action on the Boulevard Mijares, a street which runs south from the central plaza or zócalo. The Thursday night Art Walk held from November to June is an especially fun time for a stroll. Or drive to the more modern Cabo San Lucas where you can choose form a large selection of shopping, dining and entertainment options. There are also beautiful, less crowded beaches not far from San Jose del Cabo that you can easily reach with your rental vehicle.
